Planning Your Wedding: 5 Items You Should Consider

Planning Your Wedding: 5 Items You Should Consider

Congratulations on your engagement! Planning a wedding can be an exciting yet stressful task. I am here to help. Here are some tips to get you started:

1. Set a budget: Once you have taken the time to daydream about what you want your wedding ceremony and reception to look and feel like, it’s time to set the budget; although daunting, it is a very important step. It’s an important piece to determine the next steps. Be sure to include all the details, including room charge, catering, drinks, dress, tuxedos, flowers, photography and entertainment. You’ve taken some time to daydream about how you want your wedding ceremony and reception to look and feel

2. Create a guest list: Before you start planning anything else, sit down with your partner and parents and write down a complete guest list. This is important to give you an accurate number of guests to plan for and will help create a more accurate budget as well. When you go searching for venues, you will want a very solid guest count to lean on.

3. Investigate wedding blackout dates: Once you decide on a date, take into consideration if your wedding date falls on the same day as a holiday, trade conference, charity walk, or other local event that could affect traffic and hotel room availability and price.

4. Consider a Wedding Planner: A planner is an additional expense, but it’s one that’s well worth it. An experienced wedding planner can help you set (and stick to!) a budget, pick a venue, hire the right vendor team, make sure you stay on track during the planning process, and ensure your big day runs without a hitch, creating a less stressful process.

5. When considering a destination wedding: Destination weddings are a blast for all involved as everyone gets a vacation and a great way to celebrate your love and create unforgettable memories. You should take into consideration that not all your guests can make a trip happen; therefore, your guest attendance may be minimal. You would also need to check out the legalities of marriage status in your destination of choice.

These tips help you get started on planning your dream wedding! Let me know if you have any other questions. Of course, don’t forget about hiring a Licensed Officiant who lines up with your ceremony requirements.
